Admission Requirements by Program Level

Each program level has its own set of requirements. Review the details below for your desired level of study.

Professional Certificate Programs

Entry Level
1

High School Diploma or Equivalent

A secondary school certificate or equivalent. Some programs accept mature applicants (21+) without formal qualifications based on relevant experience.

Valid Identification

Passport or national ID for identity verification.

3

Basic English Proficiency

For English-taught programs. No formal test required — a brief English placement assessment is provided during registration. Arabic-taught programs have no English requirement.

Fast-track admission — decisions within 48 hours.

Diploma Programs

Intermediate Level
1

High School Diploma or Equivalent

A recognized secondary school certificate with a minimum GPA of 2.0/4.0 or 50%. International qualifications evaluated individually.

English Language Proficiency

For English-taught programs: TOEFL iBT 50+, IELTS 5.0+, or equivalent. IHU placement test accepted as alternative.

Official Transcripts

Certified copies of high school transcripts with translations if not in English.

Bachelor's Degree Programs

Undergraduate Level
1

High School Diploma or Equivalent

A recognized secondary school certificate with a minimum GPA of 2.5/4.0 or 60%. International qualifications evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

English Language Proficiency

TOEFL iBT 61+, IELTS 5.5+, or equivalent for English-taught programs. Exemptions for native speakers and English-medium school graduates.

Personal Statement (500 Words)

An essay explaining your academic interests, career goals, and why you've chosen IHU.

Official Transcripts

Certified high school transcripts. Translations required for non-English documents.

Valid Identification

Passport or national ID.

Engineering programs may require mathematics prerequisites. Check individual program pages.

Master's Degree Programs

Graduate Level
1

Bachelor's Degree

A recognized bachelor's degree from an accredited institution with a minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0 or equivalent. Related field preferred but not always required.

English Language Proficiency

TOEFL iBT 79+, IELTS 6.5+, or equivalent. Exemptions apply for native speakers and English-medium graduates.

Professional Experience (Recommended)

2+ years of relevant work experience is recommended for MBA and executive programs. Other programs accept fresh graduates.

Statement of Purpose (750 Words)

Outlining your academic interests, research direction, career goals, and reasons for choosing IHU.

Two Letters of Recommendation

From academic professors or professional supervisors who can attest to your ability and potential.

Official Transcripts & CV

Certified copies of all academic transcripts and an updated curriculum vitae.

Doctoral Programs (Ph.D.)

Highest Academic Level
1

Master's Degree

A completed master's degree in a related field with a minimum GPA of 3.3/4.0. Exceptional bachelor's holders may apply for direct admission.

2

Research Proposal (2,000 Words)

A preliminary proposal outlining your intended topic, research questions, methodology, and expected contribution.

Academic Writing Sample

A published paper, thesis chapter, or equivalent academic writing sample (5,000+ words).

English Language Proficiency

TOEFL iBT 90+, IELTS 7.0+, or equivalent.

Three Letters of Recommendation

At least two from academic professors. The third may be from a professional supervisor.

Academic CV

Including education, research, publications, conferences, awards, and relevant experience.

Admissions Interview

A 30–45 minute virtual interview with the doctoral committee and a potential supervisor.

Ph.D. admission is competitive and cohort-based. Limited seats available. Early application strongly encouraged.
